Endorsed by the Northwest Herald

Today is a very special day for me.  Not because I got the endorsement of the Northwest Herald but because today I came home from my last major deployment in the US Navy.  This might not sound important to you but let me explain.

I was manning the rails looking for my pregnant wife of NINE months.  As I walked off the boat (USS America CV-66) I was very concerned when I could not find her.  Frankly, I was panic’d.  Out of the corner of my eye I saw this person waving me down.

I couldn’t believe it.  It was my friend Ginger from Illinois trying to flag me down at Pier 12 in Norfolk Virginia.  As I made my way to her she said, “Andy, we gotta go!  Tiff is in labor and she is refusing to have this baby until you are there!”

ZogWe screamed to the hospital at “ridiculous” speed and later that night, my son Andrew Edwin Gasser was born.

Andrew is everything you could ever ask for in a son.  Humble yet confident.  Well mannered yet firm.  Intelligent but not arrogant.

Happy “Burstday” son.

While the endorsement is nice – having you as a son is so much better.
